Workshops
Below are our proposed workshops for the next 12 months. If you'd like anything discussed or could present one of the basic or advanced workshops please comment below:
2012
February
- Basic: Robin Murray will demostrate the Tasker Android App
- Advanced: Andrew Esler will demonstate Android app development
March
- Basic: We'll all plan workshops for the year (Brynn will put meeting rules on site)
- Advanced: Open forum to discuss and demonstrate Open Source stuff
April
- Basic: Jim's intro to Linux (Don wil sort out meeting place cause Brynn wil be in the US)
- Advanced: Nick will show Media Portal
May
- Basic: Brynn will demonstrate different Linux Desktops demo (lxde, gnome 3, xfce, kde, mint)
- Advanced: Nick will demonstrae how to install Myth TV
June
- Basic: Giovanni will demonstrate TinyCore Linux which is an expandable 10MB Linux Distro suited for both portable and desktop use.
- Advanced: Linux gaming by Nick (Open Arena)
July
- Basic: Gmail for business by Brynn
- Advanced: John an intro to Gimp
August
- Basic: Brynn will demonstrate the Open Source software that Spining Planet uses to build and manage websites.
- Advanced: Trevor will present Blender 3D
September
- Basic: Basic VirtualBox
- Advanced: Raspberry PI demo by Brynn
October
- Basic: Brynn will show he does a custom install of Fedora so it only includes software and custom configurations that Spining Planet uses.
- Advanced: Brynn will demonstrate how he uses commands in a terminal to view logs, identify who owns a domain name, kill processes, schedule commands, etc.
