Session 1 - Linux Basics: Linux Desktop Environments

7:15pm - 7:45pm

Speaker: Brynn Neilson

Windows and Mac users are used to having one graphical user interface (Desktop) to access their programs but Linux has many that you can use based on your needs.  If you like "eye candy" then the KDE desktop could be for you.  If you have a slow computer but would like a super fast Desktop then LXDE is a favourite.  Or if you like the "bleeding edge" then Gnome 3 might be your choice.  Brynn will demonstrate a number of desktops for your entertainment.
