I also wrote an article, about demonstrating PCLinuxOS at Feilding High School, in the same issue.

Vim's 20th anniversary. A good solid editor. Should be in every power users tool set.

PCLinuxOS
At the August meeting, I gave some live CD copies of three different versions of PCLinuxOS. I wonder if anybody has tried them out yet.

My desktop spat the dummy, now time to replace it. I have been a fan of Asus gear, except for hard drives.
I do some video editing, a bit of desk top publishing and hope to do some interactive education stuff. Not into games at all. Any suggestions, usually used AMD CPU but not too precious about that. Would like quiet system and be able to run digital TV through it. Will run Linux of course; been using Ubuntu 10.04. Thanks in anticipation.

Of those who have a Google+ account, should create a MOSS circle and include any members of MOSS they know. Just an idea which I have started my end.

History of Linux

My last post on this forum has a link to a video on the History of Linux. It follows nicely from a talk given to the group a year or so back about GNU Linux
Here is the link again just in case some members thought it was to do with Mepis.

I didn't watch the entire 85 minutes in one sitting but bookmarked it and noted the time at the stopping point.
